Next up is a whole lot of noise and bits of metal and noise. Note I also had to cut the rear of the case as I hadn't checked the cheap Colors ATX PSU socket and switch positioning prior to purchasing it and the Apple G4 Powermac case got in the way of the power switch. D'oh!
It should be noted that this was a team effort from beginning to end. In fact, some would say I spent more time taking photos.
Bottom picture, you can see the optical drive caddy post-surgery. Really I could have cut it right across given the shorter length of the slimline Pioneer optical drive but the bottom of the caddy has a bit that slides into the guides inside the case and I didn't want to interfere with that.
All that followed was a good cleaning to ensure there were no bits of metal/dust inside the Powermac case that would cause shorts later.
